There are times in life that tears are called for. Our feelings have an intelligence and we need to listen to them. The denial of what is painful contributes to more pain. People age and bodies run down, and there are limits to physical existence. Also, there is cruelty, exploitation, and hatred fed by ignorance and Selfish desires. Individual existence will involve suffering. Yet, in the truth of suffering joy is to be found. Why? Because it is that which prompts people to move beyond a constricted, anguished form of existence found in the constantly changing individual self to a broader form of existence in which empathy (a real feeling for others) and Love expand our experience. Recognizing the truth that we could not exist separate from our relationships helps us to see that there is no separation. Love is a focus of being that recognizes this truth and doesn't deny the full range of human emotions. Love seeks to use those emotions in service.
