Promote That Which Benefits

Religion is like most things. It can be used for good or ill. Unfortunately, it is more often used to promote self and self interest above all else. Unfortunately, when people use religion to do this; it is much harder to detect since our egoistic goals can easily be wrapped in a pretend morality that hides our pride and makes our will into God's will. People who have not spent any time examining themselves find it much easier to use religion to hide their selfishness from themselves and others.

But, that is what religion has become for most people, a pretend and a show. A way to hide true intentions, a way to manipulate people so that you can use and abuse them. A capitalist tool used to stop the common man from questioning, and a fantastic way to increase consumption of goods at the end of the year (Christmas).

This will always be the case with religion, unless people are able to come to a greater understanding. The spiritual way of any great religion or movement is to unite and to bring together. To seek to serve and to be a benefit to others. To care for others and to have a compassion for those that suffer. To practice love in whatever way we can to whomever we come in contact with. Whatever brings us to Love and Understanding; whether Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Atheism, or the Green Party, it can only be a blessing to us and those we come in contact with, and it should be encouraged and promoted in our lives.
